Linda Chisari: A Woman Who Inspires

State Sen. Catherine Blakespear honors Linda at the Women Who Inspire reception.

Congratulations Linda Chisari! Our local State Senator Catherine Blakespear recognized Women’s History Month in 2025 by inviting organizations like Del Mar Community Connections to nominate women they felt truly encompassed leadership, service, and achievement through their outstanding work in the community. According to Sen. Blakespear, “As we celebrate Women’s History Month, I felt it was important to recognize the trailblazers, changemakers, and everyday heroes in our community. When women lead, businesses, policies, and communities thrive.”

There are many inspiring women engaged with DMCC, but the Board of Directors most wanted to recognize Linda Chisari, who has given more than two decades of volunteer work to DMCC and has made her mark on the community at large. The nomination of Linda was officially filed by DMCC Secretary Phyllis Mirsky on DMCC’s behalf:

Linda is a longtime Del Mar resident who is dedicated to enriching her community through senior services with Del Mar Community Connections (DMCC). As the leader of the “Singing Together” program, she brings her community together through music as she accompanies them on the piano. Linda is also a landscape designer creating beautiful gardens with drought-tolerant plants for over 800 landscapes in San Diego County. Linda has also written a memoir titled The Magic of Music. Her passion for music inspires all those around her to find joy and connection.
