New Contact Info for Reporting Lost Pets

We always get the 'warm fuzzies' when we are able to reconnect pets with their humans.  Because we've had calls reporting lost and found pets after hours, we have new contact info to report lost or found pets when our office is closed.

Phone:  858-925-3494

Email: dmcc_lost_pets@yahoo.com

You can always call or email the DMCC office during regular business hours, too!

Step-by-step to Comfortable, Accessible Living

On Monday, March 22, in a talk spiced with humor, Barbara Krueger presented her new book, Universal Design, to a group gathered at the Powerhouse. Co-authored with Nika Stewart the richly illustrated book "focuses on a design and building approach that believes interior spaces, especially people's homes, can be made more accessible to all, regardless of their mobility and ability.  This book is written for seniors, empty-nesters, adult children of seniors, as well as the younger population facing physical challenges."

Universal Design is available at Barnes & Noble and on Amazon.

New strategy for charitable donations provides added tax deduction

To DMCC supporters over the age of 70 1/2 who must withdraw funds from an IRA and pay taxes on it: The Pension Protection Act of 2006, signed into law earlier this year, allows you to divert funds from your IRA account directly to the charity of your choosing and receive dollar for dollar deductibility. Speak to your tax planner or IRA custodian. DMCC would be happy to accept your donation! See longer article under "Planned Giving"
