Little known tips for lowering your utility bills will be offered by Dan LaMar, customer relations representative at SDG&E, during a 10 a.m. July 24 presentation at the Del Mar Community Building, 225 9th St.
"Many people are not aware of the different programs available to lower their gas and electrical bills," LaMar noted. Since increased rates are coming for residential customers, LaMar said he will outline various tools to help people analyze their usage and make changes.
DMCC Ride Buddies Program
Having a medical procedure that won't allow you to drive home? Need help taking your pet to the vet? Are you in a cast or wheelchair and can't operate a vehicle? Do you no longer drive? Del Mar Community Connections offers services to seniors and other City of Del Mar residents who have limited mobility.
Rides Buddies utilizes DMCC volunteers, using their own cars, to drive City of Del Mar residents to medical appointments, recreational and social activities, and spiritual outings. There is no fee, but riders are expected to cover any transportation expenses such as parking or toll fees. Rides depend upon availability of drivers.
If interested, please call the DMCC office at (858) 792-7565.
